On your return trip from the Court of Didaskalos you separate to go your own ways and head home. Knowing that you are not currently very welcome in the Lands of Duke Rateus/Trento you try to avoid them as much as you can though fully avoiding them is not possible.
While taking a side road cutting through the corner of Trento your mount spooks and throws you. As you get up and start to chase it down you hear a horrible ear splitting cry.whine from the horse. Both terror and pain. Quickly drawing your weapon and running forward you see three VERY large silver haired wolves harassing it, nipping and bitting almost as though they are taking enjoyment out of tormenting your beast. What is even more unusual is that they are doing it in silence. If it were not for the horses whines there would be no sound involved in this attack.
As you round the last tree and come to a momentary stop, deciding what to do one of the wolves look up at you, leans back it's head and issues what might be a silent howl. You perceive that the birds that had been silent in the area now start screeching and take flight. All three of the wolves leave off your horse (though it will surely die from the wounds in but minutes), and begin circling you. As you watch them and prepare for battle you notice another commotion down the road, similar to when the wolf before you "howled". The bushes briefly erupt in bird screeches and another area of the woods take flight. It is pretty safe to assume that the rest of the pack has been called.
Deciding to improve the odds a bit before the rest of these huge wolves arrive you step into action, after all, even if they are large what danger could they offer to a Cainite. Stepping in and swinging your blade you manage to disable the hind leg of one of the wolves cutting halfway through the meat where it joins the body. What comes next can only be described as a dog fight, teeth, fangs, jaws and a sword in one tight melee. Both sides receiving wounds though none disabling except for your initial attack.
You take several wounds and by the fact that they do not heal with the expenditure of blood you realize that they are aggravated. Further, looking at the one you initially wounded you see that it is beginning to get more mobility back. The blood has slowed to a drizzle and the wolf is now simply limping but able to put weight on it's leg again.
Knowing you may be outmatched you begin your retreat. Though you sensed the use of speed enhancing powers at least once you are easily able to keep away from the pack. You begin to sense other wolves closing in. You come across a small cliff and manage to climb it leaving your four footed friends behind.
Looking back you notice through the canopy that the wolves seems to sniff in a circle as though trying to pick up another scent before heading deeper into Trento. You are unable to get a full count due to the canopy and that most were just shadows in the clearing where you watched them gain the new trail. You estimate at a bare minimum 6 of these unusually large wolves in the pack.
The rest of your trip back to Triest goes smooth. You will have 1 Aggravated damage from your encounter remaining as a penalty/reminder when you go to gather (the rest you heal up).
