Upon seeing Nunzio and his men artive he heads down to meet them.
"Greetings Nunzio. Dark tidings being us together, and I wish it were not so. If you fear a trap, I will briefly open myself to dominate so that I may only speak the truth for a question or two."

"I bear no such ability, much to The dishonor of my sire." Nunzio glowers. "[dom 3] Speak plainly Alfonzo, tell me what is going on here?

(I relent)
"The Duke clumsily betrayed our trust and broke the Blood Oath of Protection. He attempted to sacrifice me, and therefore all of us, to the Ard Rhi. I have called my Vassals here so that we discuss a future where we do not bow to that treacherous worm."

"I expected little more. I however do not yet wish to favor a side in such a matter, I am certain that Rietus will bury himself however. He is both reckless and cowardly, it is not surprising that he would break an oath to save his own skin. What had happened friend Alfonzo?"

* approaches the ruin on the 5th night, he moves quietly and sticks to the shadows as he approaches. As he gets closer and hears familiar voices he listens before quietly approaching. As he speaks he keeps an eye on his surroundings.*
What has happened? The Duke has broken his oath to us? How did he break his oath?
*he keeps an eye on the sky*

Alfonso turns to Nunzio. "I can assure you that Raetus will receive no word regarding of what we speak here, and if anyone else is happening to listen they will not be able to react fast enough. This fort is Roman, and the former Duke will have nothing to do with it."
Alfonso turns around when he hears Symeon approach.
"You are aware of our journey to the Ard Rhi's court yes Symeon? To get a judgement concerning the many times Liabach has broken the Traditions?"
"Our Duke apparently had other such plans. He wrote a letter to the Ard Rhi ahead of time claiming that I had confessed to the Lunatic Priest's murder, and that this journey was a ruse designed to present me to the Ard Rhi for judgement. So not only did he not bother to fight too hard to punish the Kindred that almost killed Severus and myself, he threatened all of our existences. If I had been taken, although I did not let anything slip there, it would have been only a matter of time before the fact that we all shared in this conspiracy in some fashion would have came out."
"At the first sign of trouble, the former Duke was all-to-ready to feed us to the wolves. I know Nunzio has questioned Raetus's decisions before, and now I believe that it is time to do something about it. We need a new Duke."

I do not know details of the mad priest, just what the end was. Would he himself not be implicated in that? He did provide aid after all.
Further to what I said at our previous gather, there is more to the attacks that happened against us last gather. For the mad priest there could be reason to attempt to capture Nunzio. But that does not make sense as to why they would have tried to capture Severus. He had nothing to do with the mad priest.
Is there any other reason he would be trying to take you to your capture? Any enimies from the past that may have put out a bounty?

At the mention of Severus, a brown hawk with with white wingtips ruffles it's feathers, and steps forward into the light for better view. What looks like an unmoving mouse is clutched in one claw.

"Good, we are all here. I have called this meeting for two reasons, but first no secrets. If we are to proceed, then absolute trust will be nessescary.
I consume the flesh of the living when I feed, my very exisitence is a threat to the silence of the blood. I have also commited unsanctioned diablerie."
"Now then. Duke Raetus has betrayed us. We wre ordered to kill Father Baalam. After we did so, we went to the court of the Ard Rhi to seek justice. Severus, do you remember almost burning to death while staked? Guess how hard the Duke fought to see the kindred that set the barn aflame punished. Guess how hard he fought to punish the Usurper that frenzied on me, or how hard he fought to punish the Duke for his mental assault on me."
"He instead chose to throw us all under the wagon. He claimed that i had confessed of the murder to him, and that I had done so without his knowledge and against his orders. This is a lie, Nunzio will attest to this. If I had been taken, all but that worm Raetus would have faced extreme punishment."
"I have no doubt that I am a wanted man, but you must ask yourselves if trying to claim the bounty us worth it. It even if payment will be provided."
"Duke Raetus has betrayed his blood oath to protect us all, and is no longer my duke. I propose that we take the Dukedom from him. We force him to forsake his clan and join the free city. His sister will become a three-stepped hostage to ensure his cooperation."
"What say you all?"

I must admit that I have heard rumours of a large bounty on your head. I will admit it seemed very high, it seemed like an offer of much more than it should have been worth.
It seems we are at a crossroads, it appears our Duke has chosen his side against the rest of us. He has offered protection and yet has seemingly chosen not to honour that.
Do we want to build a strong city? I believe we do, I also believe that secrets are the easiest way to tear down a city. We are all cainites and none of us have had a clear history.
There is strength in numbers and it seems as though there are many enimies out there. *looks to the hawk and Nunzio*
Is it your desire to build this city and to fight for this place. From what I saw at the gather we are strong in combat. That will serve our city well. Do we wish to seize this city and claim it as ours?
I am willing to make the effort and place everything on the table if we all are. What sayeth you all?

The hawk, will drop from its perch circle Nunzio twice and drop to stand behind him quisitively looking at him. The mouse at this close a range appears to be a mouse shaped painted box rather than a once living thing.

"I don't like any of this, I don't like it, but it is the clearest option. I myself am not free of my oath to the Barroness. However I hold a major boon over Reitus that I may request he order the Baroness agree we dissolve our bond and oath.
I see three clear options. We become a solid front togeather, and claim this dukedom. This path will bear destruction. However I am an accomplished leader, and a devious Strategos, the path of death is not foriegn to me.
Were it offered, I am capable of Standing as Duke. This would allow glory to outweigh risk for me.
The other options are to join the free city of Triest, or flee Gull all togeather.
I have no wish to waist my investments in Trento. So the first option agrees with me and my ambitions most deeply. And I do not take my oaths lightly. My loyalty to Alfonzo has remained despite publicly being released. Aside from the oath itself, I have no cause for loyalty to the baroness, especially under the Betrayer Rietus.
As for my secrets, I am guilty of following the orders of the betrayer, to aid in spreading his plauge, which now threatens all of gull.
Rietus, caring only for chaos and destruction commanded we kill all that try to leave Liabach. To compound his plauge. He chose this action out of petty revenge despite the costs. He sought vengence on Liabach and Balaam. Retribution for mere embarassment.
As for older secrets, my ways are disliked by my clan. The ventrue consider me ignoble, and my path too dark for thier stomachs. I may have been part of the "liberation" of my sires lands & serfs. Which may have lead to his destruction.
Do we stand here now, in mutal strength, brothers to be blooded?"
