His coal-black eyes stared back, waiting for her to continue.

His eyes were met with a stare. She just kind of watched him. Was he waiting for something. If he was, well he would be sorely disappointed. "I'm sorry, do you have nothing to say to that wonderful piece of advice? Here I go out of my way to tell you my deepest secret, and you sit there silently. Honest Jaakov, I should be offended. Luckily for you, it takes a lot more then the silence of one in such a position as yourself to upset me." She huffed, and sat back in her seat, her arms coming to cross over her chest.

"Huh. Well ... I suppose I shall leave you be, there are things needing my attention back in Trieste.
I will see you there, then. One way or the other."

Fia emerges from the Hunt room and approaches Jaak and Lyrah. "Friends, do either of you possess the skill to read this thing", she waves a paper in their direction (too spastic for anyone in the room to get a clear look but there appear to be words and a diagram of some sort).

"Oh I don't know, whatever language Raetus uses I would assume. It's all just squiggles to me."
"Lyrah, do you mind if I borrow Jaak for a moment?"

"I am certain my presence is grating upon Lady Belirae, and she has no objections to my absence. Especially to assist you."

Jack wretch rushes out off the hunt room into the tap room. Reaching the bar he implores the barmaid.
"Can ni implore ya for a rag my dear?"
Jack smiles (to mixed reviews).

Lyrah watches Jaak go, and then turns her eyes to the the one who comes from the hunt room, her nose crinkling slightly as she stares his way.

Jack turns around perhaps feeling the Malk's eyes upon his back. Smiling coyly at her his attentions splits between the barmaid who appears to be cleaning the other end of the bar with zeal and the lonely lady in the corner.

Catching the mans gaze, Lyrah lets out a catlike hiss. How very un lady like... But when one is in such a corner, it is likely because she is not seeking attention, still should the stranger wish to join her...well that was at his own risk wasn't it?

The old pirate gets up from signing songs around the table to (not with) the crusaders. They seem a little relieved and unsure that he is leaving.
He hobbles over to the counter fills a mug for jack and a nice glass for the lady and pulls a rag from a bucket, rings it out and deftly hobbles to Lyrah's table, gives it a good wipe and sets the mug and glass down.
Fer da fine lady..
