July 1199 french nobles gather at the court of Theobald III of Champagne for a grand tournament. Here Peter of Capua promotes the Fourth Crusade and they agree to "take the cross," electing Theobald the military leader of the crusade. With this news reaching far and wide the mortals have a firm grasp over the crusade.

Theobald III of Champagne has been found dead in his bed due to the bite of an asp. Upon the hearing the news Peter of Capua makes a hasty deceleration that Boniface of Montferrat shall now lead the militarys of the fourth crusade.
