The cave where you meet is cold and damp as one night after the proclamation from the Ard Rhi a man in wolf furs approaches the mouth of the cave.
He calls out, "DUKE RAETUS! DUKE RAETUS! It is I Loki Runetounge may I approach?"

He sizes up Alfonso and snickers, "of course and all the little girls I have met wear white dresses with crosses on them."
He turns and looks at Raetus, "I have come to you on orders of the Ard Rhi."
He opens his fur lined cloak and produces a small dagger in his left hand and a crossbow bolt in his right.
"Duke Reatus we have two discussions to have and you may choose the left or the right," he asks.

"The first I found where the wood was harvested and it was between Gorton's apothecary and the Wildmoon Meadery in Liabach," Loki says, "the second thing I found out is that these bolts have been enchanted by a dark art."
"As much as I trust your word, which I do," Loki says, "Didaskalos asked for me to remove the hand and return with the proof that his orders were followed."

"Your hand I must remove it myself and take the proof back to Didaskalos," Loki repeats.
He slides the bolt back into his cloak a motions towards you hand with the dagger.

"I seem to have but one hand left is that sufficient for the Ard Rhi? I do not use swords so the question of my sword hand is a little odd to me. However this hand is yours to sever although I fear that unless you have some art I do not know the limb may suffer the priors fate." |
