Here are some thoughts.
I think they should only get the household Chamberlain who looks after local affairs. The head leader of the Merchant Family is a busy man and no one in Trieste has much for Commerce Influence.
As no one really has much Commerce in Trieste what if Deamos appears to Balaam.
"Greetings Doge, I am not pledged to your city but happen to be passing through as I often do while on business.
No, no my friend have no fear. I do not feed in others Territories without permission.
I understand that you are looking to have a meeting set up with the master of the seaside Estate? As it so happens I am a old associate of that family through many, many years.
What? Oh, my name is Deamos. I am sure one of your wisdom and knowledge has heard of me.
Your deeds are clever and reach wide to ears that are open enough to listen and learn. It is not often our kind, can through their great deeds and mental acuity rise to prominence.
As it happens I am in a position to set up a meeting with the local representative of the household. Busy as they are I am sure that if there is a business opportunity that they would be willing to at least hear out the Tremere. [he smiles]
Yes, I know who this is for. As I am the one in the position to arrange for this historical, primary household to come to hands outside the family. If there are no other offers I would be happy to take his boon to set up a local meeting. He will of course have to go through the Senschal/Chamberlain of their estates and convince them that it is something that is worthy of discussion with one of the family heads.
Anyways, my glorious friend. It is in an attempt to avoid paying a fair price for me to make arrangements for this estate that the Tremere has approached you.
You know, perhaps we can all come out ahead here my friend. Are you interested in discussing business opportunities, taxes and such. Things that would see your.... ah, monestary? Nuns? ah, followers placed in a much better position to do good here.
But to start if it is acceptable I would offer you a trivial boon to act as intermediary between me and the Tremere for the duration of this deal, while keeping my name out of it. In return I would of course set up the meeting with the local representative and his minor boon for doing so.
See, already you have befuddled me with your sly tongue and are in a position to profit. Are you sure you are not a Master Merchant yourself wise one?"
