A long night drawing to a close, Jaak sits down to touch base with the other newcomer he met at Klagenfurt's Gather.

Fia enters the Den to meet with Jaak and see what the other outsider has been up to since the tournament at Klagenfurt.
"Hail friend. How have you fared since last we met?"

"Confused, mostly. Gaul is very different than Abyssinia. There appears a general lack of community, despite all being under the same Ard Rhi. It's as if Those Without Shadows were in charge, and nobody knows their Responsibilities to the Land."
*grinds teeth*
"Apologies if that is offensive. I keep trying to understand what I see, when the truth is probably much different. Clans are probably very different than the Nine Sons of Kagn. I see relationship where it is mere coincidence."
*grinding*
"Klagenfurt and Triest have both expressed a desire for my loyalty. Triest seems to be much more in need.
How have you found things?"

Yes things are much different here than they were back home. For one I have never interacted with such a variety of clans before. My family prefers isolation to interaction, so I as well have had to adjust to the ways these clans operate.
Interesting, that both Klagenfurt and Triest have approached you. Thus far I have only spoken with Mother Isis and yes Triest does appear to be in dire need. I do have some concerns around the difficulties plaguing Triest, yet in joining them may be able to help resolve some of the issues.
If I may, what does Klagenfurt have to offer? I only spoke with their representatives briefly at the tournament, so did not get a good read on them.

"The Duke in Klagenfurt seems to have a light hand. I interpret statements that the previous Duke was violent and iron-fisted. Duke Galanzia seems benevolent, and wants to change the direction of his Duchy."

Interesting. That is my fear with the duchies as opposed to Triest - becoming blood bound to a tyrant. While Triest may have its issues, (to the best of my knowledge) it does not require a blood oath only a simple pledge of allegiance.

"That is correct. Triest appears to be well-suited for outsiders like us, and Isis has dreams of making the city great."

"But if she does not receive help, Triest will not survive. It is at the edge of Gaul, and if it falls to an enemy ... it will not be good.
It needs to be strong, for all of our safety."

Well then I think that likely settles it for me. I think I shall have a chat with Mother Isis and see what help I can be to restore Triest. And for yourself, have you decided who you will swear allegiance to?

"Mother Isis made a very strong case for my assistance.
I guess that means I shall see you in Triest once I've finished my commitments in Klagenfurt."
