As you two are discussing the state of Trieste there is a knock on the door. A very flamboyantly dressed man lets himself in. He takes your hand in his and shakes it vigorously. Greetings Mistress Isis or do you prefer Mother? Master Theban, terror of the sea, horror of the Grave it is good to see you again when you are not “borrowing” a cup of sugar from one of my ships on the high sea's. Now, now, no need for alarm. Buisness is what we make it and you got the best of me that time. No harm done, it is all part of the great game.
Let me see. Ahh Mother I see the questions burning in your eyes. All will come clear in time. I come through here now and again and have had various buisness dealings with many influential Cainites across all the lands. Father Balaam was just one of them.
Turning to Amphion.
Privateer? Captain? I never can get it right. Anyways, I have been watching you.
No, no, don't get all uppity, my job is to know things and always be there with what is needed when it is needed. Speaking of which, my name is Deamos Rivanna. I am a merchant specializing in most anything someone needs. Not the mundane you realize, it is to easy to sell slaves, grain, clothes. No, I specialize in making things happen.
I have learned many interesting things about your little city here. I really do like it, but alas I am not one to set down long term roots. The open road, seas and skies for me.
As you try to cut him off he says, "No, no be quiet and peacefully hear me out." You feel that you want to for what ever reason.
Also for some reason neither of you want to interrupt his speech.
I had tried to work a deal with that dreadful Blood Sorcerer. Seems he is looking for a place to build a haven for others of his ilk. You know, a place from which they can garner power and strength and tap the natural powers that flow through the earth to enhance their Thaumaturgy.
But he is very difficult, not wanting to bargain, not wanting to deal. Apprentice Hanh just doesn't understand the way of our world.
You see his superiors only expect him to give them piddling results. Then they will swoop in and take all his glory. I offered to bring him success beyond your dreams, beyond theirs? But no, he thinks it is easy to convince an entire merchant family to remove themselves from their ancient lands and home. Their primary residence.
He has found places that interest him. His superiors want it here, where they are not beholden to a Duke you see.
You begin to see. The Tremere seek to move into Trieste, build a Chantry and slowly take the city as their own once they transfer enough members here.
There are three locations of interest to them. And as they have slighted me, and of course you my friends, have never done so. And I happen to like Trieste as it is.
There are two places of power particularly of interest to him. Once is a manor house with a great large estate. The family being wealthy enough to have had the city walls extended to connect with theirs. On the NW edge of town bordering the clifs with a small private dock.
