Death in Trieste

The entire merchant family of de Zernio are found dead in their house.

On entering their masters room staff found the Patriarch of the family dead in his bead with a fearful look upon his face. On trying to alert the first born son and heir he too was found dead along with every blood member of the family. A tragic loss to Trieste.

The second son has gone missing and the guards say he was seen riding hard from the manor in the dead of night. Charged with Kinslaying the law forbids his inheritance in cases like this.

Ships have been sent out to the trading posts controlled by the family in search of an heir.

A large caravan of covered wagons is seen leaving the de Zernio estate heading towards Laibach.


The wagon train stops at the Shield of Safety to overnight.

A month goes by and a notice goes up. A Heir is found!!!

Such a horror for a family to have fallen to their second son.

But there is good news!! The Mayor and other leaders of Trieste have found a hitherto unknown Female Heir.

Daughter to the Patriarch and the woman who became his Mistress after his wife died 20 years ago. They didn't officially marry and kept the child out of the public eye so as not to cause resentment in the other childer from his original wife.

Seems that using her stipend the Lady who goes by the name of Louisa Isis kindly known as Mother Isis by those who know her well, has been doing great things in the area through her faithful servant Deacon Jonah. Mother Isis though affiliated to the Convent has maintained a personal residence in the City while the Deacon has lived at the Convent.

With the Death of her family she has agreed to move to the Estate and take over the family holdings on the condition that the flock who resides at the Convent move in with her.
