Jaak appears from the shadows as you enter, politely gesturing for you to take a seat.

Lyrah simply nods, and does as she has been asked. "And what exactly is the meaning of this hm? I thought you were far too honorable for one as low as myself."
She sits poised and distinguished, never for a moment taking her eyes off of the beast before her.

"Yes. Well, I have very little diplomatic experience, and as I have pointed out my comments were in response to your own statements. I enjoy intellectual challenges, and find people reveal more when you agree with them, than disagree."
*grinds teeth*
"Recent developments have shown that all of Gaul is a grassfire ready to consume us all. Not just Laibach. As the closest representative for your Duchy that I have had fair dealings with, I felt I should inform you of these developments. Perhaps also being able to arrange for another member of your Duchy to meet with me here, if possible."

"Oh is that so? I am curious as to how it is, exactly, that you have come to discover such a thing. Everybody lies good sir. It is just a matter of how well they do so, that determines whether or not you can sort things out." With a shrug, Lyrah idly cleans some dried blood and dirt from underneath her nails, her eyes flashing to Jaak now and then as she does so.
"If you feel that this... grassfire as you called it, is to burn out of control, then the simplest thing to do, would be to stomp it out before it becomes far too much to contain. After all, things are hardly so out of control that they cannot be contained at the current moment. That is, unless you do not feel you are up to the task? You are good enough to handle such a thing? I mean, I am sure I could handle some of it myself, but it would be more fun to watch someone else take on the task."
A devilish and IMPOSH grin spreads across her features, and she shifts in her seat. "Now then! Onto more important matters, these... developments... please, do go on. I am eager to hear what it is that you feel should be shared.."

"Pater B'Lam's assassin has been discovered to have travelled to Trento after the ambush. Duke Ry'Doos has implicated L'Fonzo, while the Baron suggests he is being set up by the treacherous Nagloper. L'Fonzo used his status to declare Ry'Doos a liar, but Ry'Doos would not stake his status to counter. The Ard Rhi charged L'Fonzo to prove his innocence by finding the true assassin, and has also dispatched Loki to also investigate to bring Justice."
*grinds teeth*
"Both Trento and Klagenfurt have been implicated in working together to raid the roads between Laibach and Triest. The bandits raiding your surrounds are allegedly in the employ of Kagn's Children. Duke Galanzia denies involvement, though does not know who from his lands could be involved. Trento chose not to comment, and the topic quickly switched to focus on B'Lam's killer."

"...." She says nothing, only stares at the monster for a few moments. It seemed was quite contemplative of the situation, however what her exact thought were, were scattered to the four winds. Much like all Malkavians, her mind was a tricky one. And it was not advised that others peek into her deepest thoughts.
Finally after a few moments of silence, Lyrah scoffs. "It would make sense that Alfonso would try to pin the blame on someone other than himself. The man has no honor. I of course say this to you as I have had many interactions with him. Even one such as yourself can clearly see the cowardice in his actions, can you not? He is fearful of being caught. Tell me more of this little weasel."

"Things are much more ... complicated here than I am used to. Conspiring against a fellow Laibon is done by those with little control over their Beast. Lies do not become regal creatures such as ourselves. Thus is the peril when dealing with those excessively Humane or ridden by their Beast."
*grinds teeth*
"Deception is definitely taking place right now, though not being coordinated effectively. Their statements seemed more designed to put doubt on future allegations than to effectively bring truth to light. L'Fonzo defended his honour - but only enough to prevent prosecution. He asked to present proof of innocence, yet once granted admitted he had none. He fell short of accusing Ry'Doos outright, merely danced around the topic by positing theories as to why the accusation was being made. He was stripped of his 'Gallant' status, yet still is tasked to find the True Killer to clear his name."
*grinds teeth*
"Both Ry'Doos and L'Fonzo seemed more interested in obscuring the issue with theories and assumptions than outright resolving the issue. Both of their standings on the matter would lead one to believe that there is more involved in this matter, and further testimonies did not sway their stance.
L'Fonzo was twice given the opportunity to agree with the accusation for a commuted sentence. Both times he held firmly to his original statement.
He and I walk the same path, and that level of rigidity comes with being commanded by one we swore an oath to. If Ry'Doos was guilty, he should but command L'Fonzo to take the fall for it to happen. If L'Fonzo was guilty, and confessed as Ry'Doos claims, then the Duke should have led him staked & chained to the Ard Rhi. Instead, they mock the Ard Rhi by bickering like children."
*grinds teeth*
"So, we have on one side Ry'Doos, claiming innocence in the matter but also stating L'Fonzo confessed his guilt. Ry'Doos wants it known he is an incapable Duke, and rather than dealing with his oathsworn subject directly he brought him to the Ard Rhi under false pretences. Knowing said subject would deny the allegations, yet refusing any kind of rebuttal to support his claim.
On the other side, we have L'Fonzo, sworn to uphold honour and obey his Lord to hold his Beast at bay. L'Fonzo, who expressed more passion and fury in accusing Laibach of stealing his vassal, the Nkulu Zao, than in defending himself against being accused of striking the Ard Rhi's Herald. L'Fonzo, Knight of Honourable Accord ... who somehow found misplacing his own oathsworn subject a greater slight to his honour than DESTROYING THE ARD RHI'S PERSONAL HERALD AND DOGE OF THE FREE CITY."
*grinding ... grinding*
Whether pausing to let his words sink in, or due to the implications of potential heresy, he pauses just the same.

"This.. Nkulu Zao that you speak of... I assume that you speak of the Salubri. If that is the case, then I would like to point out, that he came with us back to Laibach of his own free will.. he was simply upholding his end of a business deal that was struck. No one 'stole' him as it were. To think that any of us would do such a thing is preposterous. If we did, I can assure you it would not be that man. There are others that would prove to be of far more value first of all, and secondly, stealing is wrong." Lyrah laughs. "Everyone knows that, don't they...?"
She stands and paces about the room, further considering his words about Alfonso and whom she assumes is Raetus. A single delicate digit of her hand, comes to tap lightly at her lips, a soft humming being heard. "Hmm, If Alfonso has been tasked with finding the Killer, it means that he will do whatever he can to plant evidence... the trick now, is to somehow lure him into admitting is own guilt, by perhaps making him think he is getting away with being innocent. It may not very well make sense. After all, the mind of one such as myself is a confusing thing on it's own. More so perhaps, when trying to explain to a man who thinks only with his weapon."
Pausing in her steps, she turns to face him, hands clasped behind her back, her head canting slightly to the right as she speaks to him. "The Herald was an associate of mine, as well as a blood brother. You need not tell me that his death needs to be investigated, and the truth needs to be uncovered." She sneers slightly, eyes glimmering with a sort of darkness. "Whomever did so, WILL be held responsible. It is NOT just about honor, it is about serving someone a sweet 'reward' as punishment. I will not allow Father Baalam's death to be without purpose. It is not the way I work, and the sooner you understand that, then perhaps the better our lovely little chats will go. I would thank you NOT to yell at me. I have done nothing to you aside from do as YOU asked of me. I will not tolerate the tone you carry in your words. Understood.?"

"Yes, it was pointed out the - Sa-loo-brie - was there by invitation. Thus, referencing him as 'misplaced' rather than 'kidnapped'. L'Fonzo was the one accusing it was against his will.
I would agree that Trento is going to find someone conveniently to blame. Ry'Doos had even tossed the possibility that the reason the two of them had differing recollections was due to somehow memories being implanted. No doubt, they have already selected someone to hold accountable.
Conveniently though that L'Fonzo belongs to the legacy capable of doing all these things, as well as being a skilled swordsman. L'Fonzo also seemed compelled to defend the assassin's skill after I downplayed it in our conversation earlier."
*grinding*
"I was very clear with L'Fonzo that I would defend any slander to our Brotherhood - or purge any heretics.
I appreciate your support. Mother Isis has made some requests of me in this regard, and as I was there to witness the statements at court I hope to be able to confirm some of my suspicions by discussing with the few witnesses to the attack.
It is said Gunr had interacted with the assassins. Is there a possibility you could arrange a meeting between us?"

Lyrah merely smirked and shook her head. "Of course Isis would do such a thing... After all, and situation she can dip her fingers into earns her information as well as ... Other things... And let us not forget rumors have it her and baalam were quite close"
At his question of arranging a meeting Lyrah slowly shrugs. "If you are asking me to speak to him in your behalf to arrange a meeting, I will have you know I don't work for free.. I believe you should know this already. However.. Seeing as how Baalam was one of my own, and I considered him an ally, I will speak with Gunnar and see what I can do. Though... Do me a favor would you? Be a dear and stop challenging him. If anything were to happen to Gunnar, I might very well just have to handle the situation myself. Surely you understand."

"Given the current allegations against Trento and Klagenfurt, my original interpretations could have been misleading. Given Didaskalos almost punished all three Duchies in response to the developments I just relayed, I can see that all are upon equal footing.
Actions show what words can not, and until further actions can be seen I will reserve Judgement. Though I won't turn down a fair opportunity to engage in proper combat challenges. Final Death is not required for us to hone our skills."
*grinding*

"Very well spoken. You are a man who chooses his words wisely... Something I myself am rather capable of. I do hope that Gunnar will find the time to speak with you, though I am not sure where he is at the moment, I believe he was on his way here none too long ago"
"was there anything else you needed to speak to me about? I assume you have far more important matters to tend to then myself."

"At this time ... No. I am sure you will pass this information on to all your Duchy? It would be prudent for this knowledge to be shared by all prior to the gather you are hosting.
I would expect, with Didaskalos' comments, there should be fewer instances of banditry around Laibach."

"I suppose I can do that." Lyrah nods before moving to exit the room, and the tavern all together.
