Downtime 1 (Gunner, Raetus and possibly Fia)
Hunt some silver wolves.
Resources 6: Used to hire mercenaries, trackers, dog handlers, wolf hounds, hunting dogs (already purchased), cages (for captured wolves) and the necessary wagons and food etc.
Leadership 2: To direct the wagon trail.
Auspex 1 & Survival 2: For tracking (although trackers and dogs will presumably be better than Raetus)
Animalism 2: Used to speak to the local fauna to obtain information on the passing silver furred wolves. Also in the final confrontation he will summon wolves as well to aid the battle.
Please add the following side notes to this mission.
Security 1: Direction of the placement and arrangement of the traps.
Side note:
As described we plan to head toward Samuel's site of destructions this is the last known sighting. There he will be interested if there are any remains nearby as he will assume the wolves will likely have shredded the inquisitor and dragged his body in various directions or attempted to bury what isn't eaten.
Relevant skills/abilities: Survival 2, Animal Ken 2, and Auspex 1
Note: Needless to say Raetus has informed his men that some of the silver wolves are to be captured.
Gunner: Rock paper rock scissor scissor (W, W, L, W, T) Us: S, R, P, P, S
Fia: R, P, R, S, S (T, W, L, T, W) Us: R, R, P, S, P
Raetus: 3 wins will allow a capture. Latter scene will determine if it is a medium or large wolf. Raetus: Scissors, rock, rock, paper, scissors (W, T, L, W, W) Us: P, P, R, R, P
Mercenaries: Rock, paper, scissors, scissors, rock (W, L, L, L, W) Us: S, S, R, R, S

Normal cost of purchasing Mercenaries cumulative. But due to crusades everything will cost 1 level Higher. Lvl 1 = 2 resources (minor) Lvl 2 = 2 resources (2× minors) Lvl 3 = 3 resources (major) Lvl 4 = 4 resources (major & minor) Lvl 5 = 5 resources (2× majors)
The man bargains hard.
Some of what you desire is very tough to come by my friend.
Large Cages and such are easy, even hunting dogs and handlers are not so tough as many a lord who owes us is on crusade. But Trackers, many of these have gone with their masters on Crusade or for their own Glory.
Most unaligned mercenaries have been scooped up and hired by the Church or Nobles.
Fortunately for you we happen to have had some men delayed on their return from your very area. And I know a few pagans that are trappers who could easily serve as trackers for you.
Yes. I shall provide you A Militia x 3, cages, Wolf hounds and handlers. Some wagons of food, mules to haul and so forth. For your Offered Resources.

Galahad sends his new Protege Marcus Avarious the stuttering cowardly man, with good tactical knowledge along with 4 militia and Resources x 6 to hire more.
With Galahads Resources he manages to negotiate a raise in the mercenaries being provided to Raetus to lvl 4 (matching Galahad's own).
He arranges for several goats and more wagons and tents.
Equivalent Resources x 5 (he embezzles the 6th point gaining a resources x 5 card of his own)

Galahad's stuttering, nerdy assistant rides into your camp at the head of a Militia that is larger than your mercenaries, following is several wagons, staff, a small group of animal handlers and hunting dogs, near 50 live goats.
With quiet precision he gives directions and sends a runner to you and to a second smaller force that is traveling with him.
After the runner speaks to the smaller force they break off and head to join your hired Mercenaries. They seem to be wearing similar identifying badges and basic armor as though they may be drawn from a similar larger pool of soldiers.

Fia: watching and reading the night sky while you travel towards a now fallen border fort the skies are strangely absent of Northern Lights. Normally through your blood you can see something of the lights even when most others can not.
You are however plagued by dreams. Hundreds, thousands of slaves being hauled into a great pit. Being left there. Food and water are available but the slaves must perform horrible deeds to eat and drink. Forced to fight and destroy each other, becoming cannibals. Great behemoths of shadowy men come in and drive the feral, anger filled mortals to the surface. They are driven out of caves into the light of the sun. You are one of the slaves, like the others the sun burns your eyes, retreat back into darkness. You hear orders but can not make sense of the words.
The great shadowy men come forth, filled with rage they beat bloody any who oppose them.
You and several others are attacking. Killing those who dare to defy and stand free. Ripping, mauling, torturing as with only your hands and teeth you destroy. A fury fills you that you can not control. You begin to like what you do and want to please your master. But in your sleep you are confused, not sure dreaming of before you were in the pit and were free.
You begin your hunt at the destroyed border fort. You find several areas that seem to be devoid of wildlife. Deer carcasses half eaten.
Traveling along you find an area where several farmers have cleared some area in the woods and a small town has sprung up. It appears as though this town makes it's living through a combination of self sustainability from farming and livestock, and Fur trapping.
As you draw near you notice that all the outlying farms are deserted and empty. Not abandoned but simply not populated. The Lowing of oxen and bahhing of goats draw you over the hill. You discover the small town, maybe 5 buildings and a barn. The town is surrounded by a make shift palisade of downed trees with the inner branches cut off and the outer ones sharpened into spikes. Quite the formidable make shift barricade.
Inside the ring you notice that what remains of any livestock seems to have been gathered and is penned up around the barn. The area surrounding the barricade shows signs of having been burned for a good 200 yards from the tiny village. There are 5-6 large bonfires in the burned out area casting light to both the trees and tot he walls. There are men watching from within.
Wanting not to spook them you all maintain a human form and approach with your militia's. Making a grand proclamation that you are the Lord of the area and have come to hunt the wolves. The people have no idea who you are and thought that they were freeman not beholden to anyone but do not question you or your forces.
They explain how there is a pack of at least 15-20 wolves being led by a giant of a wolf that is terrorizing them. One old man mumbles that it is closer to 10 before he is quieted down.
The wolves rarely attack in the light of day so they venture forth to tend their fields and in groups during the day and hunt what ever they can find. Though game and trapping is extremely scarce with the wolves terrorizing them.
The wolves tend to howl through the night and slip in through the shadows if a fire gets to low. On occasion they will attack. The villages tell you grand tales of how they have killed many and burned their carcass to prevent these demon wolves from haunting them. You doubt it. Maybe one or two
Stories always tell of one great beast that is either leading them or watching the others as they close in and attack. The town once 20 men strong is now down to 9 men 14 women and 8 children. Some of the townspeople have gone made with fear and attacked their own families in some kind of rage. One woman slaughtered not just her husband but her two older boys. Venting some unknown anger on them.
You hear some women quietly saying how they rightly had it coming for how they treated her anyways. And there are a few more who could use such treatment.

There is no space inside the walls but the town graciously allows you to set up camp just outside the walls in exchange for some of your provisions and goats.
After much deliberations and hearing the howling but being unable to track the pack down you decide to set a trap, using both your poisons, bear traps and all.
Using some of the goats that were brought for just this reason you stake them out to lure the pack in.
Sure enough a few days latter Gunner and Fia discover one pup sniffing around the edges. Before they can really do much 8-10 wolves flood in and not just tear the 3 staked goats apart but terrorize them causing them to bleat and scream first.
They next move on towards the town. Circling your camps and going up/over and through the barricade.
A great fight ensues, Fia, Raetus, Gunner and a snake like thing that answers to Raetus, counter attack and manage to decimate this pack with only 1 limping away and escaping during the fight. The Mercenaries and militia at first held out of the fight due to the barricade. Galahad's retainer stands calmly back giving directions. The Mercenaries under his command quickly organize and in short order a section of barricade is cleared and in clean order they enter the town and join the fight. The mercenaries recognizing the qick tactical though and organization of the nerdy secretary join up with Galahad's militia and all eventually manage to get in and join the fight with only some heal-able injuries as a result.
The town however suffered great injuries and losses before the wolves were put down. Most of the men are either dead or have wounds that will cause their death.
Recognizing that the town is basically doomed, Marco utters orders to his troops and to the Mercenaries under Raetus's command. During this time of trouble he is calm, direct and barely stutters. It isn't until the pressure is gone that his stutter returns as he again returns to casual conversation.
Marco directs all the mortal mercenaries and militia to set a perimeter and search the edge of the forest for tracks and signs of more. To Gather more wood and add to the fires outside the barricade. Leaving the Vampires to see about healing or putting the townsfolk out of their misery.

As you search through the town you go up into the barn loft. The sight up their is horrific even for you depraved monsters. You discover a scene of slaughter. You discover two children about 8-10 years old dead having stuck each other with pitchforks. It looks like they fought and battled it out after rending and maiming the other children and women. only three grown women are still alive and they seem mad like animals trying to crawl across the floor at you. Howling like banshee's possessed.
After dealing with the survivors you discover the body of a light grey wolf the size of a small pony. Obviously bigger than the rest impaled on some of the barricades upright sharpened branches. the last of it's life has spilled down to the ground.

A few days latter after torching the village (assuming you replenished your blood on the injured survivors) you track the surviving wolf to where it appears to have joined up with another pack in another area. You find a similar situation and again bait a trap and attack.
This will happen another 4-5 times. I will let you guys write your own exploits and stories for these battles. the only time you take any non-standard damage is when you fight the larger grey wolves. They deal aggravated. As you fight, track or find a new area you begin to realize there is a greater evil at work here. When does a wolf of one pack go join another? Stories of 100+ wolves attacking the outpost become more of a probable reality than an exaggeration.

Travelling between towns after you have been hunting wolves for close to four months you set up camp. Each of the two Militia's have been reduced to level 3 through attrition and wolf attacks. During the last two encounters the wolves have been more clever, more strategic in their attacks. Testing and feinting.
One night the sky lights up in a glorious display of the Aurora Borealis. While Gunner, Raetus and Marcus observe the beauty of nature, Fia see's and reads something far darker in the sky. From far off in the the South East what appears to be blizzard like waves seem to be attacking the northern lights.
Gunner, Raetus, Marco do not notice this. What they see is that the lights are having a few sporadic bursts to the east but fading in that direction. Until suddenly the entire Northerner lights just give one large flash of color and dissipate in their entirety.
What Fia sees is the "Blizard strike into the heart of the lights, almost pulse and flex before the Aurora Borealis just explode like a firework and disapear.
As you start setting up an hour or so before dawn you discover that every bird in the woods has gone quiet. There are no frogs, crickets nothing. Marco picks up a pot and just starts wailing on it. His Militia immediately drop everything they are doing and grab spears and weapons as they rush to form a defensive circle. Handlers cut all the dogs free and Marco himself cuts the tethers and kicks the temporary fences down enclosing all the livestock.
As he does so you notice that the entire camp is surrounded by at least 60 regular wolves and a group of 6 pony size wolves are grouped together lookiung up the hill at you.
A great howl issues from the woods as a wolf near the size of a horse steps out to join the other 6.
And break. We can run a nice little combat for those of you who want to before game.
