A large army of crusaders have left Venice on foot the rough estimates place the force at 7500 horse and foot-soldiers. The army is moving slowly in an eastern direction right towards the Free City of Trieste. At the current pace the army should be at the city in four days.

The battle standards of the army have been reported.
The lead flag is that of the Doge of Venice strung underneath is the heraldry of Alfonso Valencia.
The army is making slow progress as a small coastal storm has hampered their ability to march.
Best guesses place them two and half days out of Trieste.

With the news that the crusader force has attacked Zara arriving about one day out from arriving in Trieste the army turns hard toward the Dalmatian Coast.
The armies pace changes as well from a slow slog to a double time pace.

The army hugs the coastline as the battle of Zara takes place.
For now this army is no threat to Gaul.
