The Imperial army that was securing Trento has wheeled and begun a forced march toward Trieste. The numbers have diminished over the year in Trento to about 4500 men. The Imperial army is about three hard days away from Trieste. The population of Gaul is horrified at the possibility of a large battle taking place on the area.

The army March south of Klagenfurt proper and turns hard toward Trieste.
Keeping their forced march pace they should arrive hours after the crusading army does.

The army arrives in Trieste and garrisons the city.
The mortals level of panic has been dampened by the large force arriving.

With the crusader force moving to Constantinople the Imperial forces prepare to march to Zara. The forces muster over three days before departing for the sacked city. For the time being the free city is safe.
