Trajan the Eldest of the Nosferatu calls for a meeting of the Cainties of Trieste within the Temple of Zeus. Trajan dressed in a Consuls Toga of Rome stands about 5 feet tall and is very feeble looking. His large head is completely bald with his eyes bulged out of head. There is not noticeable nose on his face and a small circular mouth jammed with spiky teeth. His smells of yeast and mold.
"Cainites of Trieste I have called for this meeting to discuss our present situation," he says, "the army that marches towards our city shall over power our defences within days."
"I shall speak honestly about this the city has been shut down on my order, the chain raised and the gates to be manned," Trajan says.
"Doge Isis has asked for my help in getting messages out of the city however the truth be told even by the time our messages arrive it shall be to late," Trajan weakly says.
(Waiting for others to speak up)

" We need to get people out of Triest at least out of the City if they are coming here they are going to focus in kill the Pagans and Moors who have chosen this city to be free with their beliefs and yet Christians are going to come and try to take it over? We need to get them on boats and or move them out under ground we would not be going on a voyage sort of speak but we would need to get them far enough where they could not be found. This is not just a mortal affair this is a Cainites affair as well seeing as the head of the army is Alfonso a Cainite himself. This monster will destroy everyone once he gets here his mind clouded in blood and his so called god. IF none agree with him they will be murdered as Cainites we have an advantage we can hide we can get away. Be it sinner or not i still have a sense of duty about me in protecting these people the humans reside here because they think they are safe to be themselves i refuse to stand by and have that taken from them as it had been to me! Woman and children first need to be evacuated who is with me in this? Who is gonna stand by and let this creature Alfonso take what we worked so hard for...if there are no people in Triest there will be no triest!. She would look to Trajan " remove the chain so that i can get them out of here and once we are gone you may put it back up....if you do not want to bring yourself in dealing with mortal affairs I will".

"I commend you Doge on your passion for watching over your flock," Trajan says, "but this is not my first siege nor shall it be my last."
"The one known as Velencia may rise at the head of the army but you must remember those are mortals following behind him," Trajan says.
"The chain shall remain raised, the gates shall be barred and the caves should the need arise be collapsed," Trajan says without showing emotion, "to survive another day we must sacrifice the few to save the many."
"If you are to flee who will take you?" Trajan asks, "How shall you feed the mass that flees?"

"Great Doge, while your heart is in the right place, I do not believe that it is our responsibility to protect mortals in a conflict between mortals.
Alfonso has been the source of many rumours, it is true. He has also made a direct threat upon you, Mother Isis. However, the true target of this Crusade are those in Jerusalem. Not Trieste. While Alfonso has no doubt intentions of using this to his advantage, I would severely doubt the Cainite leader of the Crusade will abandon his opportunity for glory afar by spending years occupying a local city.
They will come, make a show of settling the local unrest, then continue onwards to Jerusalem. Mother Isis, I would suggest you hide yourself until they leave. If any of the rest of you are also feeling threatened by Alfonso or his coterie, I suggest the same.
All storms pass."

You are masters of hiding hide the pagans and the Moors, that is who they will search for.....I believe truly they will look for me as well if i can fake my death there maybe less losses. I will not sit by and watch these people be made slaves of Christians and or forced to. An assassin could have came and slain me worst comes to worst when Alfonso comes to see my dead corpse we kill him while looking upon me. At least we can take the biggest danger out of them all out.

"Now would not be the time to risk striking, my Doge, for he expects it now that you alerted him to your intentions. Wait for when he returns from the Crusades, when we have more enemies of his around perhaps willing to assist you.
Faking your death will abandon what you have recently achieved in your city - a major personal loss, which is commendable. But not needed.
You can not solve the mortal's problems for them. Hide, and let things sort themselves out. Mortals will do as mortals do. They've progressed this far, I doubt this unrest will set them back."

Fia sitting at the back listening to the back and forth, stands up. "I have a suggestion that may or may not be a worthy notion. It could possibly rid us of 2 evils."
"As you know I was recently on hunt with the reeve. We sought to destroy or capture silver wolves. I'm not sure where the wolves are currently but it might possible for me to find and lure them here. We could let the crusaders and wolves take each other out. "

On the face of it, dear Fia, that sounds like it may only add to the chaos, not decrease it.
What exactly is your plan for using wild wolves against an army of Crusaders?

What if we don't bring them here but have them meet at a cross road of sorts. If they are heading in the same direction maybe Fia has a point.

I will repeat my advice on this matter.
Storms pass. Those who think they can stand in the face of the storm and will it to go away only tire themselves out. Then still get rained upon.
We do not have to overcome every obstacle, solve every task. Surviving is the best solution, and unless you know for a fact you can control the storm ... do not attempt it. I think this crisis proves that in the first place, let's not make it any worse than it already has been.

I have no hope of controlling the storm. I only know that both are equally evil and the wolves at least cannot simply be weathered. They are not just wild wolves, they have been called and controlled by something on par or even surpassing the evil of this crusader.
I hope only to let the storm dispel some of its fury on the shutters before the house blows down and we all drown in the downpour (Fia is shite with metaphor thingies). I agree if the forces can happen to meet somewhere before reaching Trieste that would be ideal.

"How much time do we have before the big bad crusaders are upon us? The wolves are some distance away, if it is even possible we would need an option in the meantime. How long can you keep people hidden in your building? "
"Also, and maybe this should have been my first question, are we certain they mean to take and hold the city for any length of time? "

After listening to the conversation Trajan speaks, "good Doge I am in agreement with our traveler friend our survival is paramount."
"Well I respect and can understand your feeling to protect the mortals we must prepare our havens and be ready to protect ourselves," Trajan says, "I place my trust in Didaskalos and his abilities no matter the initial outcome Trieste shall never fall into the hands of Valencia."
"If you truly wish to save the pagans tell them to mix amoung the christians," Trajan says, "I do not believe this army will change course easily nor a pack of wolves to slow them down."
"Doge Isis it would be folly to invite those not of the blood into your haven even if it was hidden," a weary Trajan says, "how will you protect your haven once they know where you sleep?"

Start gathering the pagans and moors then tell them to act as Christians and destroy or hide their other religions artifacts They will be killed if found out....I on the other hand am already known as a non Christian so I am sure alfonso will look for me if he is passing by. Tell all the pagan and moor mortals this if they want to survive. They have a few days to rehearse the bible abit to have some knowledge. Create fake crosses and such to the Christian god. And stay in doors. And hope by whatever is out there they will not be murdered. If there are any canines that can assist the mortals with this then also prepare for hiding yourselves as well. I hope this just blows over focus everything we have on the defence board the walls up even more with the extra supplies we have. Gather the ghouls have them at the ready for any break in the defense as well.
