Battle reports arrive that the crusader army that was to sail to Egypt has landed and attacked the City of Zara on the Dalmatian Coast. The Crusaders have attacked a Christian city.

The city of Zara does fall within the domain of Didaskalos.

The city of Zara has fallen to the crusader army.

The city is sacked in five days.

A storm struck the first night of the battle and ran ground or sunk most of the new crusader fleet.

The only way for the crusaders to reach the Holy Land now is the over land route through Constantinople.
