Downtime #2
Klagenfurt is our destination. We will be using the Hospitality provided by Antonio so that we may stay safe... ish.. hopefully.
It all depends on what the others are doing. But I'm going after the rest of those Silverbacks with this small force of kindred to see if we can get in closer and strike yet another fatal blow to the infernalists.
We will start with the area we left off in in north western Klagenfurt, along the boarders of Trento and work our way inwards. Scouring the countryside for rumors, speaking with farmers and locals during the early hours of night while the Kine may still be awake.
I'm sure we can find a trail somewhere.
Gunnar: Rock Rock Paper Scissors Rock Tie, Loss, Win, Tie, Tie Us: R, P, R, S, R Fia: Paper, rock, rock, scissor, paper Win, Loss, Loss, Loss, Loss Us: R, P, P, R, S Raqa: Us: S, P, P, R, R Johan: S,S,S,R,S Win, Win, Loss, Tie, Loss Us: P, P, R, R, R
ST NOTE: I know they are hunting infernalists but I think I am going to take this in a slightly different direction. Wrath and his minions took a pretty good hit before they co-ordinated their efforts. Even then they lost one of the 7 major Pack leaders (his 7 extremely large wolf Retainers each of which had 7 medium size wolfs leading individual packs of 10 regular/slightly enhanced silver wolves)
They will be watching them hunt and throwing new recruits at them while moving in behind them and hitting where they have already been. Lead them on a chase.

As you head north towards Klagenfurt you notice that the land is becoming more and more populated but that the fields are not in as good of shape as they should be. Almost as though they are only half haphazardly tended. Fences are falling to disrepair, upkeep in yards is poor.
Geese, Goats and other livestock seem to be doing well however. Having taken advantage of broken through fences they seem to be eating and sating themselves on the crops that are now coming up.
You pass several caravans that are camped for the night. Most are heading towards Klagenfurt. By taking a peak you notice that most of them are carrying luxuries and rare delicacies. Things that made life worth living when you were mortal. Fine carpets probably looted during the crusades, art, silk, spices, salt, strange and exotic animals...
The city itself is in not much better shape but at least the taverns, ale houses and brothels are bursting at the seams with mortals soaking in the pleasures of life.
You four check in at Antonio's Keep in Klagenfurt with his retainer before Heading west to set up camp. His retainer seems rather flustered as though he has slept little in the last while. He informs you that he is under instruction to allow you access to Klagenfurt and reasonable hospitality and feeding rights while within the boarders. No harm is to come to the common populace as they fall under the provisions of the Duchy of Verona as protected by their Liege Ard Rhi Didaskalos. And is quick to usher you on your way. (No, you are not invited into the keep).
The thought crosses your mind that it must be nice to be able to just relax and enjoy the pleasures you have earned but then your sense of Pride in knowing that what you have built and helped grow in Laibach is so much superior to the pathetic attempts of Antonio. Even Fia is feeling good in the strides and accomplishments that they have accomplished in Trieste. Yeah, the Market is impressive and the College but what good are they if they are not up kept.
If only these peasants could see how well off things are Laibach they would overthrow their pathetic nobles and beg you to take them under your wing. But, alas there is a task at hand. Actually, you all feel a little resentful that you are having to expend your efforts to help protect these pathetic laze-abouts when it is the duty of their Duke to deal with these supernatural threats.
You head east back near the border between the Duchy of Verona and the Duchy of Lombardy. Hoping to pick up the trail.

As you reach the border passing Villages and hamlets of but a few houses you hear tales of bandits that have set up in the old Border fort. There is a new warlord that seems to have taken advantage of so many forces being away on the crusades and set himself up over the last 3-4 months. He seems to tax high and just take what he wants, including the occasional farm girl and strapping lad but on the other side of things there has been little hassle and almost no attacks from the wolves since this new warlord/baron has taken up residence. Also, even though he takes what he wants he keeps others from doing the same.
He has even gone so far as to scoop up refugees from the fallen city of Zara and elsewhere, rumor is that there might even be a bunch of former slaves there. They have come and the village is being rebuilt and repopulated. He and his men seem to be benefiting the area. Other than the disappearance of a few caravans, a few kidnappings things are mostly calm here.
Gunnar and Fia using their specialized skills scout the area and find all as it was rumored to be. Johan slips up to the fort in the dark of the night and discovers that there are two Vampires within, active and close to 50 mortals in various locations throughout the fort though most are in the kitchen, on the walls, some sleeping and many in the main hall.
The damage to the walls has been repaired, the doors to the keep more or less rebuilt. The rest of the fort is in good shape. There has been some work on the former escape tunnel. There are now several extremely large stone blocks that prevent anyone from entering or exiting and guards both watching from outside and inside.
Keeping his Zombies away from direct contact with mortals Raqa slips into the town to see what is going on. The town has been rebuilt and is mostly new construction and new timbers. The Inn is more of a one story long house than an actual inn. There is a wooden palisade surrounding the town with pits dug and spikes at the bottom. A make shift gate has been erected at the entrance and exit to town crossing the trade road with a wooden raised platform overlooking the roads.
The locals become very quiet around him, conversations quiet down and everyone seems to be watching him from behind mugs of ale. What you are able to pick up with heightened senses is that this has become somewhat of a sanctuary for the deposed, and those looking to put their past behind them. Some are slaves and you even hear one or two gasps as Raqa is recognized. There are murmurs about why you are there. Who do you belong two.
Should they tell the Master?
Gunnar in Fia listening in bird and bat form pick up that most fear the Warlords temper and combat prowess but respect it also. Johan, enters trying to blend with the environment, most of the patrons do not really take note of him but the proprietor seems to notice him and is looking at the large ax leaning against the wall behind him, at Raqa, Johan at the crowd. Catchin the drift that he will not simply blend in Johan withdraws.
ST Note: Just two fairly your Brujah who found themselves free of their Sire because of the Crusades striking out to make a place for themselves. They are very liberal with their Blood when it comes to beefing up their forces. Each has 5 ghouled retainers (thought the retainers have no idea about vampires) the rest are just skilled man at arms, fighters and deserters from the Crusade and sack of Zara. Some are Zaran troops that escaped. These two are NOT scholars, they are fighters and suffer a temper control issue. Whether this is a indirect influence of Wrath or not...
If the characters choose to attack we will end it there and give them one hell of a fight.
If they choose to go on tracking the wolves then some of Wraths remaining 6 major minions will begin leading and harrying them.
