I have been "Asked" a question about the Builder status, about how to achieve it and the requirements. Until now this has been a generalized thing with loose requirements. One of the biggest was that the character do it on their won and that it further either our story or theirs. And it must grant a bonus to the domain.
I have been "Told" that there are people more deserving of it than those who have it. Yet it is not these people who come to the ST's to discuss their concern's.
I was really ticked at this. We are trying very hard to be fair, if we overlook something we are only human as we both proved last gather by making a call that ended up being not quite right. We thank all the players involved for their willingness to work with us in trying to make it right for all parties involved. There were errors on both sides of the fence. Fortunately it created some cool in game conflict that I am sure we will have many scenes of excitement while working through.
And thank you for some capitalizing on it in character to create even more conflict.
With no joke I will say that I probably put in more time towards the game than every Character combined and that is not including all the time Chris puts in. We are bound to miss things, make mistakes or when Narrating a scene to a conclusion accidentally overlook some portion of your powers. But on the other side we just may not be accidentally overlooking it, there may be other things in effect or that we feel weigh heavier and as such bypass or meet the requirements to fail the power. But if it doesn't make a difference then lets just go with it and remind us latter after it is all done unless it is going to make a big difference.
But back to the Builder and Domain thing. There are 4 characters in game currently that have this. Sokrates over the Library in Klagenfurt, Rafael over the Market in Klagenfurt, Jaak over the Inn, Stables and surrounding yard (not including guard tower) and Nunzio over the Market in Trento.
The ST's are the only ones aware of what went into building and gaining this status as it should be, perhaps some boons were called in on the Ard Rhi to expidite the process or perhaps it just helped us move our story along or it was a great step in character development. Many many more things.
Anyways, I have brought myself back into balance. Chris and I continue to try to be as neutral and fair as we can. The options are out there for anyone to become Prince, to hinder someone else and so forth. It is all going to fall out IC as it should and once someone succeeds (assuming a Prince NPC or PC from outside isn't chosen) they will have the Ard Rhi (Didaskalos) in their corner (until someone through role-playing manages to undermine them).
There are characters out there who paid extremely high prices to Deamos or through luck of the draw have put themselves into a position to be crucial in who can become Prince. Finding them and getting them in your corner is up to characters.
Lastly, I have posted a update on the Builder Status under house rules.
