Raqa will spend some time figuring out how to modify his zombies in one of three ways
a) how to raise multiple low level zombies for use in a horde style attack
b) how to increase the power of a zombie above what they can already do with strengthen the flesh
c) how to make the zombies more able to keep the effects of rituals cast on them for more than a month.
Necromancy: 12 (15 in casting chamber)
Lore: Necromantic Rituals 10
his Tests: S, R, P, S, R tie, loss, loss, win, bonus - tie
our tests: S, P, S, P, R
Ritual to modify Shambling Hordes
Lvl 5 Ritual
Empowering the Undead Bonds
Duration: until dawn
This ritual must be cast on the night of intended use. You must do a ritual test with ST. Unless you are hosting the gathering (or doing so between gathers in your Duchy) a casting chamber will not add bonuses to this ritual.
Zombies summoned while this ritual is active become permanently inert once their hour is up. Necromantic powers will no longer work on them and they can not be re-raised.
Shambling Hordes is still used to call the zombies but when done so after having cast this ritual the Zombies summoned are modified. They only last for one hour before falling.
Instead of raising up to five Zombies of NPC rating 2 (or 3 if you are Charisma focused), you can raise a total of lvl 1 or lvl 5 Zombies with NPC ratings adding up to the total NPC rating dots you could otherwise summon (all must be same lvl). If you could raise five NPC 3 Zombies you can instead raise 15 NPC 1 Zombies (with brawl focus) or three level five Zombies.
The hands of these Zombies are diseased in some way and if a normal mortal is hit with them they may be infected and suffer a painful death (on a loss of a static test).
Focuses
Lvl 1: Brawl (7), Health (1). Not very intelegent. Can follow simple commands (no and/or's in it)
Lvl 5: Brawl (17), Melee (17), Potence, Fortitude, Able to follow more complex commands (1-2 sentence). Health (10). Test pool (10)
Potence: +2 attack pool, Armour piercing, (2) dmg (no exceptional successes)
Fortitude: +5 health levels, Ignore 1 aggravated or normal damage per turn.
Modifying Necromantic powers has it's cost however. If you loose your ritual test you take 3 aggravated damage as the backlash of negative energy attacks the force which makes you undead. The energies wielded cause the corpse to become inert after the duration of it's summoning is complete and it can not be reanimated.
Zombies summoned through this ritual count against the total dots of Zombies you can summon with Shambling Hoards. If you already have five lvl 3 Zombies and then use this ritual to empower summoning more you initial five zombies will fall back to their original state. Summoning more zombies will cause all previous ones to expire prematurely.
Zombies summoned through Shambling Hordes while this ritual is active can not be further enhanced by necromancy.
