I am thinking that after game there be one big event and then absolutely nothing. Sudden eerie quiet. Set up in some fashion that hopefully will make people investigate. Maybe a appearance of Pride? Seen walking calmly through various Domains leaving a wake of apparent peace and calm behind him.
Then hit them just before second downtimes are due.
Laibach - More undead and the periodic "demon" from the pit.
Klagenfurt - Give them a great harvest as though things are looking up. But htne an invasion of some insect in early spring that wipes out most of the grain stores.
Trento/Tridentine - Wolves run through all the tunnels and passages under Raetus's castle? or maybe throw a twist and actually have some random mortal want to be warlord lay Siege to the almost or just finished castle.
Trieste - Pride comes through and gets on a Egyptian Barge leaving not peace but chaos in his wake. Fights over hurt pride... A fog arises and covers his barge a storm raises over the next day and when the fog blow away he and the barge is "gone" but the in fighting (particularly among merchant council) remains.
Then an outbreak of Raetus's plague. Small pit/vortexes open in all the Duchies and Rats pour forth.
