This is the system I am using. It is somewhat subjective, but mostly fair. I tend to err on the side of stingey. If you think I made a typo or a grievous error in judgement, PM me. However, I will not be entertaining negotiations for XP. The characters began somewhat empowered and a point here or their is unlikely to make or break your character's plans.
Points are gained for the following:
A Show up, payup, sign in
B Stay in character, stay true to character concept
C Leadership - Your character kept the plot moving and actively engaged others and kept them involved (Cool stuff your character does alone is its own reward, no LARP bonus)
D Risk/Survival You actively put your character at real risk of loss (especially of life, but not always) and moved the story forward unselfishly.
E Grace under pressure: Unselfishly relenting to a situation or overwhelming odds is commendable as it speeds other players back into game.
F Showstopper You did something that will be particularly memorable (creepy, beautiful, tragic, dramatic, etc)
Initiating combat is never rewarded, as again, it is its own reward
G Award of Excellence Player(s) of the game, you represent the LARP ideal and hit all or most of the above criteria
End of Story Bonus 1 or more xp based on overall contributions to current story arc. (This includes activities conducted on the board)
Bonus XP may also be awarded to those whose real life contributions make the game better.
4 or 5 xp is what you can reasonably expect on any given game.
