In a Northern Border Fort, at the edges of Gaul or possibly just inside Gaul, depending on who you ask. A town once ravaged and destroyed by wolves that in the last 3 years has been repopulated by ex slaves, those that fled the Crusades and criminals looking for a new start. Under the known leadership of a Brujah Siblings and with a watchful eye on strangers, rumors are beginning to filter into Gaul of expansion and fortifications.
Activity is seen at old stone quarries, Merchants and travelers who are allowed through he pass complain of heavy tolls but also admit that it seems to be well patrolled and one of the safest areas to travel. They report sledges of recently felled trees and foundations of long fallen watch posts along the valley, both sides of the long mountainous pass showing signs of new activity.
Safe secure areas in the highlands seem to have received gifts from somewhere fields are being tilled and crops planted. Sheep and goats are grazing. Peasants are carefully watched and overseen by hard faced and well armed individuals as though freedom and trust are hard to come by.
Purchases of essentials and tools are the main focus as merchants pass through but little to nothing is being sold.
It is also suggested that some of the destitute who have fled Klagenfurt may have found their way there.
The Gaul side of the pass has a large thick stone wall under construction with space for a gate.

Though word from directly inside the newly constructed fortifications and area is sparse, a caravan guard that recently came through there hints at a gathering of Nobles that arrived from the South something about heraldry, church and the Crimson Karaka?? Crimson Curse?? Crimson Curd??? Anyways, in addition to this he is pretty sure that some Nobles banner from Venice flew. There was grand pomp and ceremony and all that crap at the fort. He hear something about a guy named Narcosys or something..
He is quickly shut up and rushed out of the inn by his fellow guards.

Rumors abound that the visiting delegates to the border fort were the Crimson Curia. Hints suggest that the Bishop of Nod himself was present during the meetings and that the Ruling Brujah of the area swore vassalage to him and are taking up his cause.
What is known for sure is that this Vassalage, if rumors are true, will forever break this uncertain territory from the reaches of Gaul and permanently align it with the Cainite rulers of Venice.
