With the growing unrest in the lands of the dead increasing, I want to get back to my Cappadocian roots and try to get out in front of this before it becomes a real problem, and also see if any of this activity has any connections to the problems in the land of late. I will spend some time in the web filled room of the SoS and also my ritual casting chamber if necessary, seeking out any wraiths that will provide any insight into this situation. If any should prove stubborn, a good whack from my Bastone Diabolico should keep them in line. My Dark Assistant will be transcribing any pertinent information.
The following may prove relevant/useful:
Occult 5 Lore 2 (Necromantic rituals) Haven 4 (specifically casting chamber) Necromancy (various) 11 levels in total, in particular: Ash 1: Shroud Sight Sepulchre 1: Witness of Death Ash 2: Shroud Mastery (lower/raise Shroud as necessary) Ash 3: Dead Hand (if objects are necessary)
Retainers 3? Resources 3?

You begin your dark research as described. Calling on wraiths and communing with the dead.
There is a pattern among those you call, each one feels a need to be somewhere, they do not know where, they just feel drawn to particular directions. The strange thing is that this direction is not consistent. Some wish to go south, some north while others east or west.
Some feel so drawn that they break your shackles of control and attempt to fight you requiring a few slaps from you bone to discourage them. You can physically feel the veil thinning and weakening where you are. As it gets thinner you are able to call forth weaker willed spirits. One thing you discover is that the directions they are drawn coincide with events of import in their mortal days.
Just as you are beginning to get somewhere and narrow down where they may be heading your efforts create a tear in the veil and a literal army of Roman Soldier wraiths begin pouring through. The room is turned nearly inside out as a Vortex of nether material starts ripping into the shield of Safety.
Your door is kicked in and a man, no wait, now they are a woman, no wait a pirate, a boy... someone who is shifting through many appearances is standing in the entrance. Screaming at the tops of their lungs and waving their arms they call into being things, creatures? things you do not understand. In studies you suspected that perhaps there are things wraiths fear and from what you can guess these "things" must be something of that sort. They appear to be devouring those wraiths that come to near them. They form a barricade across the breach you created. And the tempest appears to have subsided.
[Turning to you looking like the original Chronicler you first met]
"You know not the full forces at play. One of you is not sufficient to maintain a barrier and do what ever else it was you were doing. I have a friend, one of yours. Very knowledgeable and very old. I will send word to him. His name is Benwick Beckham. It will take time but when he comes know he comes to help set right what you have done here today.
In the meantime I suggest you follow those who escaped and see where they go"
[Chronicler turns and leaves the room]
You follow the spirits and they head to the crossroads where a few units break off and head into the bush. trying to follow them you discover that at various points they simply dissipate in a dustdevil fashion and are drawn into the ground. Following the others they head towards Trieste where before they reach the new edges of town something similar happens, though this time you can almost believe you can hear the screams of their souls being ripped apart.

two things.
Chronicler is able to seal the breach not through necromancy but through Chimistry. The wraiths are truly fearful of these "creatures" he created and believe they get eaten, as such they technically destroy themselves. Since no wraiths are leaving the tear it slowly begins to heal itself.
Did I get benwicks name right? For him coming in we can give him some old dealings with Chronicler and say a boon was called in for him to come and provide Chronicler with some knowledge. What he does, and charges others once he is here is up to him.
What do you think?
