(OOC: sorry man, I double checked that before hand for that very reason, ST says he has it. Good try though, this is awesome.) I have it good authority that he does indeed hold such status. Perhaps the requirements for such vary from domain to domain, as I imagine a Builder in a mighty marble Ventrue city would be quite different from a rude hut in a humble Gangrel village, for example. Nevertheless, by the powers that be, he is Builder in this place as I am Builder in mine. Thank you for your insight, though. It warms my unbeating heart to know that such wisdom and discernment lurk beneath such rough stone exterior. You do your clan and kin proud, Johan.

((While I was typing the post, no less. Good timing, ah well. XD
That was about all the insight I could offer in character. Out of character, a little more, but pretty much the same. Not sure how far builder's protections work in the long term. I'd say gala had at least would be holding a grudge over a low clan waving a half finished foundation about like it was a grand hall. I also wonder how specific 'punishment' is. Being asked to leave may or may not be considered under it, for instance.))
"Jaak, that boon was given out of respect for Sokrates and his position, not for any support of yours. I still feel that you are twisting the letter of the law to serve your own ends." Johan added, directing his gaze at the assamite who originally mentioned him before turning back to Sokrates.
"My duty has been assuaged for now, thank you Herald." Johan responded, stepping back and falling silent once more.

I remain confused - there is no law twisting, nor ulterior motives on my part. I also am uncertain why this is being treated as a conflict between myself and Duke Gallahad. I appealed to the Herald for a ruling, he made one. Any conflict is with him. Had he ruled differently, I would have accepted that ruling as well." *grinds teeth* "I honestly don't understand why this has escalated into a highly-complicated discussion."

((Right! I knew I forgot something. Jaak, the Duke doesn't have to spend any status for his words to be considered truth. Two of his abiding passives cover that without having to be spent. It doesn't change anything in this scene, normally you'd have to expend status to argue with him, but builder protects you from not doing that, you can do so all you want here.))

OOC) I will post more tomorrow but a few things I notice off hand. First Jaak DOES have Builder. the Inn is almost done, more or less waiting on finishing touches. I was VERY clear at the begining of the game that the gathering was on his domain.
next. Galahad never said it was infeernals that I am aware of, Raqa did.
This is Jaak's Domain. It is expected that a Duke know the rights of Domain, the more status and higher positon the more accountable someone is to the laws. He is willfully disregarding them while knowingly in someone elses domain.
Jaak might be streatching things but he is using what other people actually say to twist and do it. He didn't call anyone a liar that I saw it was them who call him a lier and again, in his personal domain (lack of respect to cdomain holder)
It is about where and when you push the envelope.
The Herald does have the authority to impose boons as he see's fit, until he becomes Chamberlain you can always protest to the actual chamberlain, and if he becomes such then the Ard Rhi. But be careful about challenging his authority because he also has the power to impose status bans or take offence. If he challenges the rights given a Duke...
Jaak has no evidence it wasn't infernals that he has presented, he has been pulling the Domain holder card and damage to his property by x individuals.
My suggestion (which is what I actually thought would happen when I opened the board) is to leave his personal Domain and address this in a different forum where that leverage is not his to wield.
But other than that awesome everyone. Just keep in mind these are characters acting out not the players. Keep it all IC.

((I remember it stated that it was on his domain, but i thought the excuse for only having one room and having to play outside was that there was basically plans for an attached inn, and little else past that. We were also told to be watchful, as anywhere outside was considered in the open and within sight range of the mortals at the watchtower. If the inn was so close to completion, I'm sure we would have been passing boons for private uses of back rooms for our back room dealings, finishing touches or no.
As far as I'm aware, Jaak holds no rights through domain that prevents anyone from calling him liar, as those are granted through abiding status he does not own. Is there something I'm missing in regards to that? Otherwise, with the confirmation of his status as builder, I've been keeping in my head to basically everything else you said here.))

At any rate, good Cainites, dawn approaches. I would speak further on this or any other matter with any and all who wish to see me. I await you at the Shield of Safety. Safe travels, brothers of night.
